X-Men: First Class 2 Might Be ‘Days Of Future Past’ And Is Therefore Going To Be Beyond Brilliant

The promo shots for Trinny and Susannah’s new show hit problems almost immediately

Looks like the plot of X-Men: First Class 2 could be centred around the seminal alternate reality story Days Of Future Past.

It seems that 20th Century Fox have registered the name with the relevant movie related people, and, although this might be a giant Apple style ruse, it could lead to one of the greatest pieces of cinematic history ever being made.

Better than that scene in Batteries Not Included where the little baby Fix-It dies, but then manages to make it through. Or all of FernGully: The Last Rainforest.

For those of you who don’t know, Days Of Future Past takes place in an alternate reality where Marvel’s Marvellous Mutants have almost been hunted to extinction after Magneto and his dastardly Brotherhood of Evil assassinated Senator Kelly and everyone was like ‘FREAKS! GET THE FREAKS! DORA, WHERE’S MY PITCHFORK?’

It’s supposed to show the dangers of how one mistake can alter a timeline irrevocably (without relying on Gwyneth Paltrow with two wigs), and introduced Kitty Pride and showed why she really is one of the greatest X-Men character ever.

How such a massive plot will be created in a more realistic Marvel Movie Universe is a bit tricky to see, but I would never have thought that James McAvoy would’ve made a good Xavier, but I was surprised.

Anyway, buy Days Of Future Past. Even if the film isn’t based on that, it’s still a brilliant story. Also, the cover is the Marvel equivalent of Crisis on Infinite Earths #7, i.e. replicated so many times that it’ll never be as good.
